Maruti sales top 100,000 a month for first time Passenger car major Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday reported a 27.9% jump in sales for May at 102,175 units compared to 79,872 vehicles it sold in the year-ago period. This is the first time the car maker has ever sold over 100,000 units in a month, its previous highest monthly sale figure being 96,650 units in February. "During May, domestic sales stood at 90,041 units in the domestic market, up 27.2% over the corresponding month last year. This is the highest ever domestic sales in a month," the company said in a statement. Exports during the month grew 33.5% at 12,134 units. BHATIYA PARESH J
